Great Plain Action Society’s
Indigenous-led Urban Resilience & Innovation Hub
A living workshop for
justice, healing, and economic reimagining!
Great Plains Action Society (GPAS) is turning 1.05 acres of historically colonized and unhealthy land into a living workshop for justice, healing, and economic reimagining!
Located in Iowa City, this hub will host:
A center for First Foods farming & prairie restoration
A healing justice house for all with a focus on BIPOC & 2SLGBTQ+ communities
Entrepreneurial launch pads for BIPOC-owned small businesses
A center community building with classrooms, a teaching kitchen, art room and event space
A mutual aid café with pay-what-you-can pricing
A matriarchal, regenerative space rooted in Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK)
This is not just land back — it’s ReMatriation. It’s replacing extractive capitalism with compassion, community, and Indigenous futurism created by matriarchal thinking.
GPAS is currently raising 500K to renovate and retrofit the buildings — and every dollar brings us closer to a world where land heals, communities thrive, and justice blooms.
When Indigenous folks steward,
Land heals.
When matriarchal values guide, Communities thrive.
When mutual aid replaces monopoly, Justice blooms.
